Family Life

Traditionally, the father's are the head of the household in Ancient Egypt.  When he dies, the oldest son becomes the head of the household. Although men are the head of the household, women have as many rights as men!  They can own land, make wills, own items, and even obtain a divorce.  Kings usually have many wives.  Most often his "main wife" is a member of the royal family-Sometimes it's his sister of half-sister!
