Prior to our arrival, we determine that there are three main social classes in Ancient Egypt. These are the upper, middle, and lower classes. As we suspected, the upper class includes the pharoahs, royalty, wealthy landowners, priests, and government workers. The middle class in Ancient Egypt includes the skilled workers, merchants and craftsmen. The lower class includes the unskilled workers and farmers. The lower class is the largest class in Ancient Egypt. Any prisoners that are captured in war became slaves and formed a separate social class.
Social Classes are not strict, and members of each social class are able to move to another class system. People can marry into different classes, and can improve their class status through marriage and wealth. The slaves are also given rights, and are able to marry, own things, and gain land. The could even be given their freedom!
